Stationery creation & Virtual machine

Post by Lorraine »

I have an URl for O S Windows 7 to be able to make
Stationery in Outlook Express. I am wondering what you
think of me trying it out with PSP PX3 Ultimate

I made stationery with PSP PX2 ULT. in OE when I used Windows XP.

Did anyone try it in here yet?

Can't hurt to give it a try. X2 and X3 are not all that different.

I'm more worried about how Windows 7 will handle it, not PSP PX3 or PSP PX2.
I would just install the Virtual Machine to be able to download OE and therefore
use PSP PX2 or PSP PX3. I have the CD's for Corel, it's just I don't want to wreck
this relatively new, 1 yr old machine... Not that I really like it, but I would like to use
it a bit longer. :)

If you made stationery on PXP X2, you should also be able to do so on PSP X3. X3 is compatible with Windows 7.

What may be the greater challenge is running Outlook Express on Windows 7. Outlook Express is not available for Windows 7, but Windows Live Mail is available. Windows Live Mail can also use stationery.

When you mention installing the virtual machine, are you referring to XP Mode? If so, be aware that XP Mode requires the Professional or Ultimate edition of Windows 7; your profile indicates that you have Windows 7 Home Premium. That being said, I can report that Outlook Express will work in the XP Mode virtual machine, or in Windows 7 as a published application.

WDS037;

I have made only slides with PSP PX 2 Ultimate. They aren't slides when I send them, but are
when received in the group.
Yes the that's one reason I knew about and was worried as it didn't say about have Pro model.

I have Microsoft Outlook 2003 and I haven't got a clue how to use it for stationery.
Thanks anyway, going to take my XP machine to a techie to see if he can make it work.

I can't seem to. After clicking a little button on monitor I get a little 3 x2" white square that
says:,
Monitor is in Power Safe Mode,
Activate using PC.

I pressed every button on the keyboard. Still dead.

Hummm,
I've had that same message. I just unplugged the video cable, plugged it back it, tightened the little nuts on each side of the connection, and it worked since then. Could also be the video card is a little loose. Popping it out, then back in might help.

Ron:
I have unplugged and plugged it so many times. It isn't connected to my DLINK or
Internet. But I was told and have no idea if it is true, that I should be able to see
what's in my computer without the internet. I just have it plugged in a surge bar
the purple and green plug, I think they are speakers and micro, I don't know,
plus the big one with the two screws, blue I think, also the one black one for
the monitor that goes into the outlet. I can't lift the monitor,
so I will take PC to a techie and he will try it on his monitor.
I didn't try the Virtual Machine, but was told by techie it won't harm my PC.
If it does, he will run my CD's again.
There are things I want from my old XP PC.
What connection do you mean where you tightened the little nuts?thanks

Well I should have said screws or bolts, these things..
svga cable.jpg
That's the cable that plugs your monitor into the video card of your computer. I've had the same error and found where those connections and/or my video card must have been a little loose, because once I messed with them it seemed to work fine. I will say that I'm on my 2nd monitor, the first one a HP failed about 2 yrs ago. When it did, there was nothing, no "in power saving mode", just nothing. That's why I'm thinking it may be just a loose connection or card.

Thanks Ron, that's the plug I meant. I have tried over and over
again to see if I can get the monitor to go on, but that little
window comes up.
Would have to try it connected to the Internet. So will take the
PC to the techie and have him connect it to a monitor.
He can try it while I wait. It's very quiet there these days.

BTW, I answered before and the message flew away again, I can't
find it and Google has a tab above this page, beside Corel.
I signed up for a GMail A/C just to see how it looked the other day, I haven't
used it, but they keep changing my home page to Google but then it
goes back to Dell.Msn.com
I just noticed it before...Are they trying to take over my PC? :)
My message is probably in there......
