I now have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Post by delliott290 »

Hi Guys, I recently ordered an HP Elitebook 8460p laptop computer with Intel Core i7-2620M processor, 4GB ram, 500 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, and DVD+/-RW SuperMulti DL Drive. Will my VideoStudio Pro X2 work with this new machine, or do I need to buy a newer edition, or completely different video editing software? Thanks for any help, David

See my pc specs? X2, X3, and X4 work fine on it. BUT, it mostly depends on what type of files you are working with. Mine works fine, but I am working with DV-AVI. If I was working with AVCHD, forget about it.

It wasn't originally designed for Win7, but Service Pack 2 is supposed to add Win7 support.

FYI - Video Studio X4 is marked-down to $40 USD at the moment, so it might be a good time to take the trial version for a test-drive.

It should work fine with it -- though you will need to apply the patch to make X2 fully compatible with Win 7. No version of VS is 64 bit, but they work fine with that OS.

EDIT: The others beat me to it. But just to clarify -- an i7 should deal well with AVCHD...
