Corel Paintshop Pro X3 will not embed photos in Windows Live Email 2011 running under Windows 7 Home Premium .
When asked to email photos Corel responds with a message that there is no email program installed or if there is one to create an association in the Default Programs control panel. Windows Live is associated in the control panel.
When tryng to send a pic via email windows 7 tries to configure PSP and comes up with the error - The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "PSPPro.msi".
Trying again does not work and I cannot finmd the PSPro.msi file.
Any ideas please?

The attempt at installation is a bug, it shouldn't be happening but as of yet there is no patch for it. So cancelling it is the best option. Chances are you're getting the error message about the MSI program because you have the download version, with the disc version I need the disc in my drive before I can hope to install. But it's pointless anyway so just cancel out of it.
If I remember correctly PSP attempts to find an email client capable of advanced MAPI abilities. When it doesn't find one it returns a "Cannot find email program" error. Fact is it finds a program just fine, but can't find one with the settings it wants. The advanced MAPI is necessary for embedding images through this method. Windows Live Mail does not have this feature as far as I am aware. In fact the full version of Outlook (not outlook express) is the only program I know of that does handle advanced MAPI. Doesn't mean there aren't others out there but I don't know what they are if there are.
So if you want to use the email feature of PSP you have to deal with these issues. Cancel the installation, anywhere between 3 and five times usually, ignore the error message, and don't embed.
Honestly, it's just easier to save the files out and embed them yourself into your mail program.

As LeviFiction has said, PSP can only embed photos in emails via an email client that used Extended MAPI... which pretty much means Microsoft Office Outlook.
This is further complicated in Windows Live Mail 2011, which doesn't really embed photos in any case. It embeds a thumbnail and moves a copy of the full-sized photo to an album on the user's Windows Live account. The thumbnail in the email contains a link to the full-size online copy.

Thanks for that. It seems the organizer in PSP is pretty much rubbish considering this email problem and the fact that in addition it does not pick up all EXIF info when Windows Photo Gallery does. Perhaps the answer is to use the organizer as a file browser for the editor and no more.
I always loved PSP but perhaps now is the time to consider Elements!

The organizer is pretty much rubbish without the email problems. Technically the only real problem with PSP's email is the attempt to install when using the feature. The annoying dialog simply means it won't be able to embed directly and that's true of programs trying to send a message to an email client. My thunderbird client can't use extended MAPI and so Picasa's email option just attaches it while PSP gets specifics before making the attachment. But it's all the same.
The same might be said of the Elements browser. Most prefer to use an external organizer such as Picasa anyway. I'd wait and try X4 when it comes out before considering a move to Elements. Who knows, they might surprise us.
