Using Video Studio Pro X3 to assemble video then saving as .mpg file. Have had problems so went back to basics to try to isolate the problem.
Have been trying to burn to DVD+R using Philips DVD+-RW DVD8801 internal. Tried burning a video test file using simple video from Corel sample videos and slides; created using VS Pro X3 (purchased copy). Video is in .mpg format and small (no menus). Got Corel error message "Failed to burn data onto the disk". Yes the disk was new and I was able to burn the same file to DVD-RW no problem with same Philips DVD 8801.
Strange to me that I can burn to DVD+-RW and not to DVD+R.
I do have an external 2 TB hard drive with both a USB 3.0 and 2.0 option. I understood there might be a problem with USB 3.0 so I have it connected as USB 2.0 now. The USB port is being run by a PCI Express Card USB 3.0. I am using the external hard drive to store finish files. All processing is done on C drive.
I did try to upgrade to PRO X4 but there is a problem with USB 3.0.
Thank you in advance for you help. Worse comes to worse what DVD burn would you recommend.

Re: Video Factory DVD burning problem
Welcome to the forums!!
First, can you confirm whether you are using DVD Factory 2010 which came as part of VS X3 or whether you have downloaded and installed Movie Factory 7 SE which Corel made available to users of X3 once they accepted that DVD Factory was a hopeless mess.

Re: Video Factory DVD burning problem
If your video files are not stored on your external hard drive, you may want to disconnect it from the USB drive, if the videos are in the external hard drive, transfer them on main hard drive then see if that works for you.

Yes I am using VideoFactory SE 7.00.30169.0. File is dated The video file (.mpg) is located on the C drive.
As I said in my first post I do have an external 2 TB hard drive with both a USB 3.0 and 2.0 option. I have it connected as USB 2.0 now. The USB port is being run by a PCI Express Card USB 3.0. I am using the external hard drive to store finish files. All processing is done on C drive.
