Instructions for Installing Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 Upgrade

Post by Cypherdude »

I did several searches but could find no instructions for installing Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 Upgrade. I have Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 and Corel DVD MovieFactory 7 SE installed now. I would like to uninstall X3 and MovieFactory 7 SE so I can do a clean install of X4. If I uninstall X3 and MF7SE, will I be able to install X4 Upgrade? I have the discs for both X3 and X4 Upgrade. What happens when I remove X3 and MF7SE? Will the X4 Upgrade look for a registry key or will it ask for the X3 disc during the X4 install?

Welcome to the forums, :)

All you may need to install the upgrade is the serial number for VS X3. While installing VS X4 it may ask for the serial number for the previous qualifying version, which in your case is VS X3.

BUT - there is no need to uninstall previous versions first - in fact I personnally would counsel against it - many of us have a number of previous versions on our computers and it can be very useful at times to nip back to a previous version, so unless you are seriously short of HDD space I would recommend you leave the old version on your PC for at least a bit longer.
