vs x12 no sound when i creating dvd

Hi every one
I do have an video cd contain an mpeg 1 file and I am trying to convert it to dvd PAL
I start the VS x12 trying to create a dvd but it is creating it without no sound so I try to make it as an iso file an I mount it to playing it in windows media player same problem the media player playing it without no sound so I tried to create an mpg2 file with 720x576 and 3500 constant video data rate Audio format :mpeg /stereo 224kb/s When I am doing this the mpg working very well with sound normally in media player so I try to create a dvd from this mpg file the same problem happen again the VS x12 create the dvd without sound
Any Idea why? Should I install any codec ?

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?:

Project Properties (important): mpg2 file with 720x576 and 3500 constant video data rate Audio format :mpeg /stereo 224kb/s

Output format (file, DVD, VCD, SVCD): dvd

Output Properties (cogwheel in lower left of burn screen): pal
i am using video studio X2 pro
i am not using any codec at all Except divx Version 6.4.0

Hi

Wow not heard of VCD video in a long time, cannot even remember what files are on the disc.
I assume you have the video file on the timeline and that it plays ok, you can hear the audio?

Right click the clip and select proprieties, what are they?

Do Share Create Video File-DVD 4:3
This will render/convert the video to a compliant MPEG2 file
Does the resultant file play on Video Studio?

If yes use this to burn a DVD, Add Video

the outpot file can be inserted to VS X2 without no porblem and play in in the VS x2 with sound
but the problem come when i share-create dvd
when i play the output dvd in media player i have no sound at all
also in my dvd player and the media player see no codes in the properties in the cahpter when it playing this dvd
any idea

Hi

How are you creating the DVD.

Rendering the VCD project creates a standard Mpeg 2 file which should be used to burn a disc.
You know the video file (output file) works cos it plays ok.

Start a new project, Empty timelines.
Share Create Disc
“Add Video” using the Mpeg2 (Output File)

The burn process should not be re-coded as it is a compliant video file.
When you finally hit the “burn” button the process should start with Convert Menu.

If you first see Convert Title then the Mpeg2 file is being converted, not what you want……..

To save wasting a disc create a DVD Folder to your PC’s Hard Drive, you should be able to play this to check quality. Then finally burn a DVD disc.

i do as you said adding the video (output file) in new project and use sahre- creating DVD
i chose no menu i see the VS X2 converting the mpeg2 file to DVD and i use (create iso file)
so after the VS X2 creating this ISO file i mount it and playing it in media player 11 from play menu- play VCD DVD
so the media player open the DVD play it but WITHOUT SOUND
so any idea

After creating the Output File, are you able to play this Mpeg 2 file and hear audio?

Start a New project, do NOT add anything to the timelines....
Share Create Disc – DVD
This opens the Burner Module
At the top left select to Add Video—browse your hard drive for the Output File
Continue to burn a DVD or Image file.

Please download and install the VLC player

Use this to play your video file.
Does it play with sound

why the media player play the dvd without sound?

If you're referring to Windows Media Player, the one that comes with your operating system, it probably has to do with what codecs it uses. I've made DVDs and WMP will not play them. It is somewhat proprietary, meaning it may not use the same codec that is already installed on your system. Another example is my mother's laptop. She could not get it to play DVDs, again talking about WMP. After some checking I found that I needed to purchase an DVD (MPEG-2) codec just for it.

I keep 3 or 4 different software media players installed just because of this. If one doesn't play it, I'll check my DVDs using another one. If I find that none of my software players will play it, I must have a problem with the DVD itself, and go looking at the various attributes I used while creating it.
