Hello,
At the "Share/Cerate video file/AVCHD" step, among the other types appears the following:
AVCHD (1920X1080P)
AVCHD (1920X1080)
Since I am dealing now with HD movies, I don't have any idea what is the difference between those types, so I am not sure what should I choose.
Any help will be appreciate.
Thanks,
Abraham

Re: Types of AVCHD files
The difference obviously enough is in the 'p' which stands for progressive. This means if you choose that option, your output AVCHD will be frame based, with each frame being a solid frame, rather than a half-frame interleaved with another half frame, coming out Upper Field First. In effect, progressive video is meant to be better than interleaved -- higher quality. But that usually applies to HD video which is running at 50 (or 60 NTSC) solid frames per second. There is a whole big debate elsewhere in this forum about how to get VS X4 to produce 1920 x 1080p video at 50/60 fps, given the increasing number of camcorders out there which film in that mode.
So the next question is whether you have such a camera. If not, then choose the option without the 'p'...

Re: Types of AVCHD files
The AVCHD (1920X1080) would be 60i, which is what most camera's shoot in. AVCHD (1920X1080P) is 30p.
On my camera you have the option of 60i, 30p or 24p. But, the progressive modes are actually recorded at 60i.

Re: Types of AVCHD files
Thank you Ken and Natal,
In my camcorder movies are recorded with AVCHD 1920x1080/60i format, so please let me know what will be the best choice for me. I am still a little bit confused, forgive me for my ignorant in this subject.
Thanks again,
Abraham

Re: Types of AVCHD files
Since you don't have a camera which films in 'p' mode, then as I said, use the output option which does not have the 'p'...

Hi Abraham
You should also be able to choose Share Create Video File—Same as First Video Clip
If this option is available then your video files properties will be used to render the new video.

Re: Types of AVCHD files
The problems is, though, that it doesn't work with all HD video formats...
