I just purchased a new powerful PC to substitute my old Pentium II computer where I had installed PSP XI. Few months ago I purchased upgrade to X3 but when I installed on my Pentium, the performances where so slow with respect to XI that I decided to remove it and use only XI. Now that I have a quad core I expect better performances, but I always purchased upgrades from PSP9 to X to XI to X3. I do not want to reinstall the whole sequence. Any way to install directly X3 even if it is an upgrade?
Furthermore I have an Italian Windows 7 but I wish to install the English version of PSP X3. When I installed it first on Pentium, I got the Italian version by default and then I had to switch language. The result was that it created TWO different versions of object folders (tubes, filters, etc... ), one with English names and one with Italian names! I would like to avoid that now. How?
Thank you in advance.

You do not have to install the previous versions. You can go ahead and just install X3 as it is a full version. The "upgrade" refers to the price structure only.
I'm sorry but I don't know how to help you with the duplicate language folders but maybe someone else will jump in with an answer.

Thank you Kathy. Nice to know I have not to reinstall XI to use X3. About the language, is there any way to tell to installation to setup English language by default even if my operating system is the Italian one? Maybe a parameter in some INI file?

Since PSP X3 detects the OSes language, the workaround that you can do is to just change your Windows OS to English prior to the installation of PSP X3, then once the installation is done and PSP X3 is in English, you can change the language of your OS back to it's original language.

These days with Windows you can only really change the language of the operating system if you have the right version. Apparently it's considered an "ultimate" feature. But XP Pro fortunately isn't like that you should be able to change the language quite easily. You can also change the language of PSP once installed if you would prefer. Either way works really.
