I'm having trouble

Post by CallumGlendenning »

So a few month ago I bought an Easycap and what came with the Easycap was Ulead Video Studio. Unfortunately, I have no idea what the software version is but I have looked on the CD and it states that the software version is 3.1. I have downloaded the drivers that needed to be install however when I come to downloading the actual software, it prompts me for a serial number. I have dispersed of all of the packaging and the disk is the only evidence I have left of actually buying it. I did used to have it on my computer however I got a virus and needed a new motherboard. If you could possibly provide me with a new serial number, that would be great.

Welcome to the forums, :)

This is a User to User Web Board, that is staffed by users of the various Corel (formerly Ulead) products. We just volunteer our time to help others with technical problems.

The version of VS that would have been bundled with your EasyCap would have been VS 10SE, Note the SE, which denotes a Special or Simplified edition. There should not be a serial number required for it. If by chance there is, and you registered it with Corel (Ulead), you can go to Corel's website, log-in to your account, and go to the page that lists all your registered programs, and retrieve your serial number from there. Aside from that we can not provide any assistance with obtaining a serial number.

Along the lines of Easy Cap please see this sticky post.. EasyCap or EZCap

Thank you for your quick assistance Ron.

While in the installation process, it doesn't let me access the 'Next' button unless a serial number is given. I am also not a registered user on the Corel website.

There's no way to obtain the serial number because:
1/ You didn't register it with Corel
2/ You didn't back it up.
3/ Most importantly, VS 10SE is a freebie version that has been bundled with an illegitimate product, EasyCap.
4/ VS 10 has been dropped some time ago from Corel Support. The current version is VS X4.

Hi

You mention about downloading the drivers and the actual software, I don’t understand why you are downloading anything, :?: :?:

Surely the driver (I think this may be called DC60) and VS 10 software is on the disc.

You should be able to install VS 10 from the disc?

From memory my disc was coloured yellow with Easycap text????
I disposed of the disc a long time ago.

I didn't say that you pirated anything. I stated that you're the victim of piracy, meaning that the makers of the EasyCap device are the ones that pirated that capture device. They included a VS10SE with it. Again you did not do anything wrong, you were preyed upon by those that do..

Oh, I misunderstood and I apologize for my recent comment. Thank you for all your help you have provided.

This would be by a long shot, if you have installed the driver and all you need is a software, you may want to try VideoStudio X4. Though, I haven't seen anyone that uses easycap and VS X4 combo here and you'd be the first one to try.
