As in the title, I guess I can re-download it and use my serial no. but the corel store doesn't actually list it for download anymore...
If I lost I guess I can stick with buying corel x4 which seems good (except titles still go off screen in finished render )
anyway, anyone point me in the right direction..
thanks
alex
Corel replaces the TBYB version with the latest release, so VS X4 is the only version that can currently be downloaded from them. If you would have purchased the Download Insurance, you could have had access to downloading VS X3 for up to 2 yrs. Without it, you must make sure you keep a backup copy, either on removable media (CD, DVD) or another HDD. As I see it, you're options would be to try and locate somewhere on the internet a website where you can still download VS X3, or purchase VS X4. I've made it a habit to backup my downloaded versions to CDs and DVDs, and thus have all previous versions that I've purchased, back to VS 5.
If the titles (text) are going off screen on your finished DVD, that is due to over-scan by your television, which is not the fault of the program. All NLE's (Non-Liner Editors) that I've used, provide you with guidelines to keep your text inside of. Most of the time the over-scan is around 10-20%. You should be able to set the TV Safe Area to what works with your TV. Everything that falls outside the TV Safe Area borders risks being cut-off by your TV's over-scan.
When you say titles going off screen, do you mean as Ron mentioned, just out of the safe area, or they going completely out of position, even when created within the safe area.?
thanks,
regarding the titles, yeah i know they show a "safe area" when you add them but even if I make them well inside they sometimes go left. I tried clicking bottom centre, which works on the preview screen but when its rendered ...
In fact on my latest video it ended
wildaboutfilms.com in small writing , centered.
after render I got wildaboutfilms.co
maybe I should align them all left?
I tried setting the preview window to 16:9 as well but all titles looked easily in either way until render. I only watch my films on pc or youtube and all are 16:9 hd???
I thought everyone would be having this trouble ? must be user error?

Your videos are HD and as such should be using widescreen 16:9
Are you saying that you normally have the preview screen set to 4:3, that would mean that the project properties are set to 4:3.
Sorry,
Yes,
I mean i set the preview window to 16:9 (ie put a tick by it in the settings tab) because maybe it wasn't... but anyway it didn't change anything..

oh yeah, the reason is I didn't say is because it does it however I render.
input avchd 1080p
I output
mp4 25fps 1080p or
mpeg2 720p or 1080p
all these renders do it. x3 did it for me as well so it must be me because I'm using x4 and it still does...
I get the sinking feeling I'm being a dumbo now and not doing something basic...

If you have not avail of the 2 year download insurance, then the download link may have been removed. You can call our Sales Team to see if you can still avail of the download insurance for the VS X3 and you can redownload it.
Given that your problem is common to both versions can you manually update Direct X, the process is in three parts
1/ Download the latest Direct X update 95Mb
2 / Double click the exe file to extract the files, ( I create a folder on my desktop for these files)
3 / Run DXSETUP.exe from the extracted files.
