Quick time movies are white
Maybe it's a simple problem.
When I use Quick time movies, my movies (.MOV) are white, I have audio but all I get is a white picture.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Thanks

Re: Quick time movies are white
Can you provide more details, there are many types of quicktime files, what are the properties of the video?
What version of quicktime are you using? have you tried another earlier version, as far as I know X4 provides 7.5.5.. Assuming you are using X4?
What editing effects have you applied to the clips, creating 3D has been known to show as white.
Does it affect clips in all timeline?
Is it associated with project playback or clip playback or both.
Do the videos play ok using another media player ?
Have you been able to play Mov files as ok in the past?

Do the videos play ok using another media player ? I can view my clip in quick time or windows media player.
What editing effects have you applied to the clips, creating 3D has been known to show as white. No effects , I can't do anything to the clip because I only see a white screen.
Have you been able to play Mov files as ok in the past? Yes, I can play anything I make in after effects saved as a MOV. file, but not the ones from my camcorder.
.. Assuming you are using X4? Yes.
Thanks

Hi
I can only assume it’s a codec issue…….
Your camcorder probably came with software programs, installing these may provide you with the correct codec to play the mov files.
If you wish you can e-mail a sample clip, I will see if I get the same problems.
Select my Quick Guide from the link below to find my e-mail address.

Hi
As the problem is related to the camcorder, does that mean you have corrected it and are able to play the Mov files successfully.
For Direct X the latest version is shown on this post

Re: Quick time movies are white
Hi Trever
I normally just use a a file converter like Xilsoft converter.
Didn't know I can convert before I move them from my Camcorder.
Thanks
EDIT: I have the latest Quick time, and directX.

Hi
Even though your system may be up to date via Windows Auto Updates, the manual update of Direct X does cure some strange issues with video studio.
If you have already manually updated please ignore my comment.
Quicktime
There have been issues when running the latest versions, installing earlier versions has cured things for some users.

Re: Quick time movies are white
I tried using an earlier version with no luck. I'm using quick time Pro now and still no luck. Guess the code from the camcorder is not compatible with any thing I use.
