dumb question, sorry.

This is going to be really simple for one of you but its defeating me

I film 1080p 50fps. I posted on here how to get best end result 25fps was suggested as it just drops every other frame but heres the snag. Saving as MP4 only gives 30fps as lowest
So I was advised:
"As your original Field Order is Frame Based it doesn’t matter which you choose, Upper or Lower. For You Tube use Frame Based"

This was good advice and plays lovely on my pc but the end file (when i click on properties) is alway listed as upper or lower and it would appear youtube tries to deinterlace it or something because it comes out a bit "zaggy" whereas mp4 detailed as "frame based" does not .
So why oh why can I not just find any proper frame based 25fps (in mpeg or mp4 ) output? surely this is rudimentary or can I just click and change the properties of the file..
sorry for being dumb..
al
zaggy ;)

mp4 30fps

You don't say which version of VS you are using. But X4 gives the option of outputting in AVCHD 1920 x 1080 at 25p; and you can also do it in HDV but only at 1280 x 720p.

There is another option in X4. If you have an .mp4 clip with the specifications you described, you can put that on the timeline as the first video clip followed by the rest of your video. Then Share > Create Video File > "Same as first video clip." Before continuing, click the Options button and clear the checkmark for "Perform SmartRendering." If you don't do that, you will crash VideoStudio. When rendering has finished, you can use MediaInfo to verify that the video has the desired specifications, which should be the same as the first video clip on the timeline.

If you don't have another video editor to create the necessary file, you can download the one I created. It's an mp4 file with a 2 second video with black background at 1920x1080p 25 fps, 20 Mbps, AAC 44,100 audio. I uploaded it to MediaFire.
