First if I am in the wrong forum, Please direct me and I'll move over. I did look and this is the closest I could find.
I recently purchased a USB capture device. The software says Ulead Movie Factory Ver. 10.0, I don't see anything on here like that so I'm sorry but I may be in the wrong place.
I an run the software, I can capture live TV, So far great. I can not change the capture screen size larger than 640x480 or it gets an error and turns off. Question: What the heck am I doing wrong? Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You very much...
Michael

Re: Ulead SE DVD
You're in the right place.First if I am in the wrong forum,
With video capture devices, the hardware usually only works with the supplied software. If the hardware & supplied software don't work well together, you may need to return it (if possible).
If you can capture with the supplied software, once you have an audio/video file on your computer you can use the video editing & DVD authoring software of your choice. (But, you won't get optimum results if you can't capture in the correct resolution.)
Video capture can be tricky, especially with "cheap" capture devices.*
What other settings have you tried? Are you trying to make a DVD?I can not change the capture screen size larger than 640x480 or it gets an error and turns off.
If you live in the U.S., try 720x480, 29.97 fps (NTSC DVD)
If you live in Europe, try 720x576 , 25 fps (PAL DVD)
- You've got an old version... Corel took-over Ulead in 2006. (It's very unlikely to work on Windows Vista or Windows 7.)Ulead Movie Factory Ver. 10.0,
- We aren't actually up to 10.0 yet... I don't know what you've got.
- The SE versions are "lite" versions that come free with hardware.
- You can download the free-trial of the current version, but it's unlikely to work with your hardware.
* I have a Hauppauge tuner/capture card. (It used to work great, but the old one I have is now outdated with no Win7 drivers.)
I think the real EzCap is good, just watch out for the "fake" 'EazyCap' devices.
The AMD/ATI All-In-Wonder cards have a good reputation too.

Re: Ulead SE DVD
I too am wondering about this version 10 of Movie Factory, and wonder if in fact it is Video Studio 10 SE which comes supplied with the fake version of EasyCap/EzyCap: for a discussion of this see http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 30#p211330
If you have the authentic capture device, it should come with software called CapWiz which you should use for capture... then edit the captured video in VS. But as you will see from the above discussion, the authentic device no longer comes with Video Studio...

Re: Ulead SE DVD
It could be VS 10 SE, since there is no DVD MF 10 at this time.
