I'm trying to install vsx4 (boxed version) and when i try to install...i get the install window...put in my region and video preferences (ntsc)...add my user name and serial code...i get the first screne in the installer...then i get the message (see attached image)...another installation is already in process. I have disable my virus protection...i have also tried the TBYB downloaded version with exactly the same results. Might it be that I have Ulead DVD Factory already installed on my laptop? It comes with the Toshiba Satellite P305. My laptop is well within the specs needed for this program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Re: vsx4 won't install
Having DVD Factory on your computer already shouldn't affect anything. People like me have multiple copies of Video Studio, Movie Factory and other Corel products on our computers and this has never interfered with installing a new program.
You might want to try going into your disc and right clicking on the setup.exe or related .msi file and selecting Run > As Administrator.
Some people have also found that they have to set up a new User Profile, run the installation disc in that. That works. And when you reboot your computer or log back into your earlier profile, X4 should still be available. You can then delete the new Profile if you want.

Re: vsx4 won't install
thanks for the input. I had already tried all of those approaches to no avail. Created a new user with Admin rights...no joy. Did the install with Admin privs...no joy. I haven't heard back from Corel yet. Perhaps they have some other paths to try. It is just interesting to me that the installer thinks another installer is already running.
thanks again for your suggestions.

HI there..
Here are some of the things that you can do... try shutting down the computer then restart it after 5 mins, then start the installation again. You may also want to check the task manager and check if there are more than one msiexec.exe process running in the background, make sure that you only have on msiexec.exe process running then initiate the installation again.
