Edited MP4 Video Will Only Playback Audio

Post by Tony S »

Hi to everyone hope you all are doing well. I hope this question is appropriate for this forum. I just finished editing MP4 videos with Corel VideoStudio x3. I exported the videos in the same format. The problem i am having with all of the videos is that when I try to view them with Adobe Flash Player All I get is the audio portion of the video and the Adobe controller is visible. Is anyone familiar with this problem and can give me some advice as to how to fix. I have tried to exporting the videos in a few different MP4 formats but none seem to work? :?:

Have you tried using another media player? There's several freebies that are very good. I use VLC Media Player or Media Player Classic Home Cinema. Real Player is another that is capable of playing a multitude of formats, including MPEG-4.

What specific codec are you using to encode your video?
  • M4V-SP
  • M4V-ASP
  • H.263
  • H.264 Baseline
  • H.264 Main

Hi Ron,
Thank you very much for your response. The video seems to show ok when I use real player. Is it possible for me to use one of the suggested video players to run streaming video from my web domain for my visitors to view? I don't know what encoder is in play here. :?: how would I find this info?

Thank You again
Tony S :)

Hi Tony

I have used Windows Media Video in the past.
Sample

Since then I have updated video to use Flash, both formats being readily available and players installed on all Windows PC’s.

Hello Tony,

I agree with Trevor, another reason is that Windows Media Player is practically installed on all Windows PC, so you don't need to worry about user cannot view the video because the player is not installed in the computer.
