Hello
I've been using VS 11.5 Plus for several years with no problem. Recently, I received a new camcorder, a Sony HDR-CX305 which produces .MTS files. I can open the files with VLC and Windows Media Player.
For editing in VS, I chose to use proxy files. When I put the files on the timeline and play them in project mode, everything is fine (display & sound). But in clip mode, the clip is played really fast, less than 1 second, which makes difficult the editing...
I tried with smart proxy disabled : same problem.
Any idea?

Re: MTS too fast in Clip mode
Welcome to the forums,
I can't find anything that tells if the HDR-CX305 records 60/50fps. If so VS 11.5 is not going be able to handle this correctly. In fact it is not until the latest version and the most recent patch, that VS X4 is able to. Does your camcorder record with one of those frame rates? The 60fps, would be for NTSC, while the 50fps is for PAL video.

To my understanding VS 11.5 Plus does not support video with 50 fps, another issue is that you may not have the updated codecs.
Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.
RealPlayer: http://www.real.com/
DivX: http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec-pack
XviD: http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.3.1.zip

Re: MTS too fast in Clip mode
Updating codecs is not going to help if his VS 11.5 doesn't handle 50 fps.
