service pack 1 for v4

Post by dumbdumber »

I've tried installing the SP1, and it says "the installed version of the application cannot be verified".
Any ideas anyone?

The only idea I have is, perhaps you're running a trial (TBYB) version? Can you click on the circle w/dots icon in the upper-right, then click on the gears icon in the dialog that opens, which should provide the option, About Corel VideoStudio X4. Post the version number you have please..

Hi, it says Corel VideoStudio Pro 14, it shouldn't be a trial version as I paid for it.....

Yes it should say at least that. What I'm interested in is the version number. It should start with 14.x.x.xxx <--- the numbers where the x's are is what I'd like to know.

Sorry, that's all it says, there are no numbers after it.

I think what you looked at was the splash screen when you first start the program. Here's where you find the version number.

That's what I was looking at, it just says 14......
I downloaded it online, if I uninstall it will I be able to reinstall it, and will I lose all my work?

Something is not quite right. There should be a number, starting with 14, the format for the number will be 14.X.X.XXX. Can you take a screenshot, hide the serial number, which is just below the version number, and post the screenshot?

I can't say at this time if you will be able to reinstall it. If you purchased it, and registered it with Corel, you should have the file(s) that you downloaded. If you purchased it within the last 30 or 60 days, the link in your confirmation email may still be active. You can try to download it again, if you no longer have them.

When you save your projects, where are you saving the project files? VS X4 creates a folder in your My Documents folder. I will also save the projects to another hard drive, just to be safe. I also keep all my clips on separate drives. If you have any filters that you purchased, like New Blue FX, those will need to be reinstalled.

There must have been something wrong when I installed it, as it doesn't show the serial number either !
I'm going to uninstall and try to reinstall and hope for the best, will let you know.
