DVD MovieFactory 7 will not start

Post by denikar »

Hi all,

I just purchased DVD MovieFactory 7 and everytime I try to start it I get the following error:
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

I've tried completely uninstalling / reinstalling numerous times to no avail.

Upon further investigation, a dependency check on the DMFLauncher.exe executable shows it is missing 3 DLLs: MFC80.DLL, MSVCR80.DLL, MSVCP80.DLL. These are all associated with Visual C. I obtained these DLLs from Microsoft and put them in the right spots but I still get the error message. I'm guessing it is because they are not the same version DLLs that the Corel developers used.

Anybody else have this problem and have a possible fix to try?

Thanks,

Tim

Problem solved!

I pulled vcredis1.cab and vcredist.msi (Visual C redistributables) out of the MovieFactory install file dmf_pro7_e_esd1.exe. Then ran vcredist.msi. It installed the missing DLL's in the proper spot. Everything works fine now!
