Ulead ArtTexture.Plugin 1.0 --- HELP!!

Post by ccfran »

First of all, I have Windows XPSP SP2, & Windows NT. I'm taking an Artistry Class in PSP, & one of the lessons calls for this plugin.

Here's the error message I get when I try to run the installer for this plugin:
C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. It even closes when I click ignore.

Some Ulead plug-ins are not compatible with NT unless you are using Service Pack 6 or greater, and, especially under a Duel Boot config they may not install, some no longer compatible with NT’s Install program. Often a Plug-in may go to the closest Folder on the Tree or the oldest OS, other factors may apply, when trying to install.

Did you specify the location for the Adobe PhotoShop compatible Plug-in Folder during the Art-Texture Plug-in install? To me PSP means Paint Shop Pro, PSD means Adobe PhotoShop.

The AUTOEXEC.NT is used to initialize the MS-DOS environment unless a different startup file is specified in an application's PIF. The Plug-in is failing to install, possibly because it is an outdated Installer Program, since the program was created in 1998.

I know this doesn’t help much, but the ArtTexture plug-in will install on my XP. I uninstalled NT last year so can’t diagnose the problem and Ulead does not give TECH support for this Plug-in. The WebUtilities.com Web site that Ulead used to maintain is no longer functional, so I am unable to get any other information or help.

My problem got solved earlier today when my moderator for the class I'm in responded. It seems my AUTOEXEC.NT file was outdated, it was a 2002 file I discovered. That one is now deleted.
She sent me a new one from this year. The old one was also in the wrong folder. My moderator told me to put new one in my system32 folder. Now, the plugin is installed.
Everything is ok, now.
