help please
Have had a full copy ulead videostudio9 since 2007, used it for uploading utube no problem etc, decided to put some old goal clips together from various sources on to 1 dvd, spent a couple of weeks inporting, editing, adding, clipping etc, Finally ready for burning to dvd & it just crashes every time, tried, reducing burn speed, disks everthing , It just crashes out with this program needs to close down debug or cancel & the program closes, Have a phenom 9550 quad with 3.25gb memory & 15ogb hard drive, any know or can help would really appreciate otherwise im going to have too purchase a different package.

Re: help please
How are you going to the burn module? Straight from the project? VS might be having trouble converting a clip(s). Try first rendering your project to a DVD-compliant MPEG-2 file. Then start a new project, go to Share>Create Disc, and import that file for burning.

Re: help please
managed to render it to mpeg format, but now states 6.46/4.71 disk, is the project which runs 1hr 43mins to large for videostudio 9 too handle. Very surprised if thats all it can handleBlack Lab wrote:How are you going to the burn module? Straight from the project? VS might be having trouble converting a clip(s). No a project of !hr 43 is not to big for VideoStudio to handle - it is just that you have not chosen the correct setting - reduce the bit rate in the burn module and you will be able to burn 2 hours at an acceptable quality and even up to 4 hours if you don't mind a slight drop off in quality.

Re: help please
You simply have to lower your bitrate.
8000 kbps = 1 hr of video at good quality
6500 kbps = 1.5 hr of video at decent quality
4000 kbps = 2 hr of video at vhs quality
Use a bitrate calculator to determine what you need to set it to.

Re: help please
Thanks i'll give it go, reduce bit rate ie the speed of the burner perhaps to 4x or 8x rightBrianCee wrote:No a project of !hr 43 is not to big for VideoStudio to handle - it is just that you have not chosen the correct setting - reduce the bit rate in the burn module and you will be able to burn 2 hours at an acceptable quality and even up to 4 hours if you don't mind a slight drop off in quality.

Re: help please
tryed it opened the project, create disc, lowed the burn down to 4x & off it went , then up it come unleaded as incounted an error & needs to close down, debug to solve, & out of the program all together. Is a memory issue, i know its memory intense but set virtually memory has suggested. Compiled rendered mpeg to big for disc, what im doing wrong here guys

Re: help please
No - that is the burning speed - look in settings for bitrate - numbers like Black Lab has posted (8000, 7000, 6500 etc.)zzztim wrote:Thanks i'll give it go, reduce bit rate ie the speed of the burner perhaps to 4x or 8x right
In order to get your video to fit the disk you must lower the BITRATE - not the BURNING SPEED.

Re: help please
When you select Share > Create Video File, you then select 'Custom'. A dialogue box will appear asking you to assign a name to the new file. It will show the file properties down below, and will probably show there a bitrate of 8000 kbps, which is the automatic default. Click on the Options button on that dialogue box, then select the Compression tab on the new box. A bit over half way down, you will see the 8000 which you can then reduce manually. Click OK to close that second box, then Save to start the conversion process. That should now produce a significantly smaller file which should be below the 4.7 GB mark and which should then be accepted in the burning module without any error messages.
