Is it possible to set the center of a video?

Post by lisaviolet »

As a stabilizing method? I took a little video of a roller coaster at disneyland and I'd like to loop the part where the rollercoaster loops. I think it would be fun to have it going around and around. My problem is I didn't use a tripod and I'm beginning to think I need to go back up there and take another video, using a tripod so I don't get the camera shake. I've tried newbluefx' stabilizer, but it's not doing it for me.

Is there a way I can do this with software? The movie is only about four seconds long, if you'd like to see what I'm talking about: http://www.lisaviolet.net/movies/screamin.mov.

TIA.

If your video clip is in the Main track, then you will first need to go to the Attributes panel, and check the box beside Distort. Then right-click on the clip in the preview window, and select Anchor at center>Center. You can get the same right-click menu commands with clips in the overlay tracks. Also this is found under Alignment Options on the Attributes panel for clips in overlay tracks.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, it doesn't seem to be making a difference. Do I need to be doing anything with the surrounding boxes (the yellow markers)?

I just did a search for corel videostudio anchor and got this page http://videostudio.helpmax.net/en/edit/enhancing-clips/. That isn't at all what I want to do.

I want a smooth transition when it goes to the second loop, like the coaster just keeps going around and around.

It's looking like my best bet is just to take a tripod or monopod with me next time so I don't get the drop with the camera, the tri/mono pod will keep it steady for me.

Hi

I’m not sure what you are after.

If you were to remove some frames from the end of the video then the ride seems to rotate ok.
If you switch to the Sound Mixer you will see where the sound stops, remove these frames,
Then right click the clip and Copy, then Paste (click timeline) next to first clip.

Maybe a very short crossfade???

Well, I finally did this last December. Used a tripod. I trimmed it until it looked right, copied and pasted on the timeline a few times and kept the original soundtrack.

Here's the video on YouTube.

Hi lisaviolet

Thanks for the feedback, Its been a while since the last post, nice to see you managed to stitch the clips together, it does look very stable.
The aspect, shape of the video looks a little squashed (horizontally) guess that may be You Tube

Well done…
