Exporting Finished Videos In The Correct Format

Post by Tony S »

Hello Everyone,
I hope that you all are doing well today. First I would like to say that the people in this forum have been very helpful whenever called upon for advice and solutions to problems that may come up for users of VideoStudio. I would like to thank you all for being here in our times of need.

Today I would like to know if anyone could give me some advice on what is the best format to use for my finished video project. The video format is currently MP4. I have imported the video to add and edit the audio and video portions of these videos. I would now like to export the finished project so that I can both embed the videos with controller on my website as well as put them in a zip file for potential clients so that the can download the set of videos then play them back with controller included with video. I would also like the format that I use to prevent user edits or tampering. Is this possible? If so what format is the best to use for the requirements presented? Any help with this question is greatly appreciated. :)

Thank You,
Tony S

As for your website, you obviously want a small file so it plays quickly. I'm sure your MP4 is small, but does your website allow MP4s? Most websites use Flash for videos.

For clients, again you want something small. But you also want something that can be played (almost) universally. The two most common I would think are Quicktime player and Windows Media player.

Preventing edits or tampering? There are a million different ways you can rip a DVD or download a video. Once it is on one's computer there isn't a thing you can do about it.

Tony

Can you provide further details of your MP4 video file?

Right click a clip in the timeline and select properties, what are they?
How long is your video, obviously this will affect the final file size?

Tampering, maybe Flash files would do, You can create a flash file but you cannot edit Flash (FLV) files using Video Studio.
Although you wont stop anybody copying your video if they are determined to do so.

Like Jeff i think Flash may be your best choice, that doesn't stop you experimenting with other formats.

Thank you Jeff an Trevor for the information. I was happy to get it. I will export the finished videos as .FLV files. Could you tell me one more thing? When I export as .flv what will I need to add a controller to the video? Also how can I create the embed code for my webpsge?

Thank you so much :D

Hi Tony

I would have thought your web editor program would have the options to create a video flash player.

A forum member John Mitchell gave me a quite nice player.
I have used it here.
View the videos to the bottom of the links.

I am sure John wont mind if I passed this on, if you are interested e-mail me…..

Hi,
I apologize if I have offended anyone for posting what I thought was a relevant question. I will pay more attention to what I ask in the forum in the future. Thank you Trevor for the offer. I think that I can locate a video player with no problem now that I understand what it is that I have to do. Thank you again. Wishing you all well.

It's not that you offended anyone, but you would probably get better answers if the question was asked in the appropriate place.
