Overlay track resize
I am using photos for a slideshow. How do you resize a photo or video on the overlay track to the exact size on the timeline? I know you can use the resize handles but is there a faster way?

Re: Overlay track resize
Right click in the Preview Window and choose Fit to Screen. You can also choose this as the default in Preferences.

Re: Overlay track resize
What do you mean it didn't work? Either it is the same aspect ratio or it's not.

Re: Overlay track resize
Hi
If you use images that are not the same aspect ratio as the frame, nowadays most use 16:9.
When you re-size and keep aspect ratio the image will fill the screen but look as though you have zoomed in, loosing some detail at the edges. Especially if they are portrait sizes.
If you use images that are 16:9 then they will fill the screen and look ok. Assuming you are working with widescreen
You have to resize manually by dragging the corners, this will keep the image in proportion.
Do not drag the green square this will distort the image.
Once you have resized the first image, right click and select Copy Attributes.
Paste to other images, Use Shift + Click to select multiple images.
Ok I have had a thought………….
Generally I copy and paste attributes across the overlay track, but you can copy and Paste attributes from the top track to the Overlay track.
This may be your quickest option.
Take care that the images are using the same aspect ratio?

Re: Overlay track resize
The aspect ratio must be the problem. I am using a slideshow I had made earlier. I usually make a DVD file using Share, Video File, DVD (16:9). Do I need to share them as 4:3?

The slideshow (in DVD format) shows 1:33 to 1:00 aspect ratio.

Re: Overlay track resize
that's 4:3 - NOT 16:9 - and your images appear to be 1.5 to 1.0 - - if you are using 16:9 for your project properties and try to fill the screen then of course they will distort.
16:9 should show an aspect ratio of 1.77 to 1.00
To avoid distortion and completely fill the screen your images must be in the same format as your project - or you do not fully fill the screen and have black borders at each side

Re: Overlay track resize
Thank you, In future projects how should I set up my slideshows in order not to have this issue? Again my photos are 3168 X 4752 pixels (if that matters. I guess my question should be am I saving them in the wrong DVD format (16: 9)?
