I have the c3dps trial and want to do a couple of things:
1. I want to make a banner of my company name for a web page
2. I want to make one also for a brouchure.
Q1 When starting a new project with c3dps, how do I specifize the size for a web page (so that the company name fills a line on the top of the screen (I heard 640 x 480? is a good universal size to use for web pages)?
Q2 How do I do the same thing (specifiy image size) for an object tha t will go to another program (CorelDraw) - I heard 300dpi is a good resolution for printing images on a brouchure.
Q3 What is the best format to c3dps save as (export?) for a web (JPG?) and a brouchure (bitmap?)?
Q4 On the preset sizes, how do I tell what dpi they will be at when done?
Thanks in advance as this looks like a program I can use (as is Gif Animator - which reminds me).... these same questions are also aimed at Gif Animator (so, do they have bascially the same answers)?
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hi Wagner
I'm far from an expert, however I'm going to attempt to answer some of your questions here.
A1:
When you start a new project, Click on "Project>Dimensions" this will open a dialouge box where you can manually type in the dimensions in pixels, inches or centimeters.
Now for the size of your web page, the 640 x 480 is a common size used for the full size page, however not the banner. To create a banner, generally use the width of your webpage, ie; 640 so that the banner extends across the entire page, but the width should be somewhere around 60px, but no more then 100px. I've done a few Swish(a flash authoring tool) webpages using 640 x 480.
Also just a note, pixel resolutions are used when your project is going to be viewed on a computer or internet, where DPI (dots per inch) is used only when printed. You can try altering the DPI on a photo being viewed on a computer and nothing will change. Change the pixel height and width and the photo changes.
A2:
Surprising that you also use Corel Draw, most use Photoshop...anyway I've never tried printing a c3d project. I looked around and the only way I found to change the DPI, was throught File>Print Setup. This opens a dialogue box where I found the default to be 300dpi, and using the drop down menu this can be changed.
A3:
The best format to use for the web is JPG since it is a good compression format, even if it is a "lossy" compression. You want to keep your file sizes as small as possible with good quality. And yes your correct for a brochure or print, a bitmap or tiff(no loss in quality), tga, PDFxchange. Any format to maintain the highest quality, or else your print will appear grainy.
I'm not sure what you mean by "preset sizes". The drop-down menu items? (File>dimensions) I think UC3d PS, uses 96px and 300dpi as a default. The dpi can be changed only in the Print Setup.
I hope that helps some.
Regards
Ron
