Please help me create these effects
I have Paint Shop Pro X3 and need some tips on how to get this type of photo results. I want to make a CD cover/insert like this one but can't seem to get the font, photo blurring and grainy background with any of the options. So I'm asking if anyone has suggestions as to how to do it!

For the fonts you can check out http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/ and you can get the grunge effect from Filter Forge Freepack 2 http://www.filterforge.com/download/. Filter Forge is a plug-in; if you have not used plug-ins, post back and one of us will walk you through it. You can play with blur by going to the Adjust Menu -> Blur ->Gaussian blur. Hope this helps

Re: Please help me create these effects
It's a fairly simple process. Once you download the plug-in (it's an .exe file), double click it to run the program and it will guide you through the installation process. It will ask you to accept the license agreement and you can either accept the default installation location shown on the screen or browse to where you want to store your plug-ins ( for example: C -> My Documents -> My PSP Files -> Plug-ins).
Next you will have to launch PSP and go to File -> Preferences -> File Locations and click on Plug-ins on the left hand side of the File Locations box. Now on the right hand side of the box navigate to where you stored the plug-in and click OK. You can locate your plug-in within the program via the Effects Menu -> Plug-ins.
If you get stuck, holler.

Kathy:
Is Filter Forge compatible with PSP? I saw no indication of this on their site.

Re: Please help me create these effects
A lot of plugins designed for that other program
are compatible with PSP, some aren't. Basically you have a better chance of the plugin working if it says it works with Elements or older versions of that other program
, but this isn't always the case. Basically if you have a trial version of a plugin you should try it, but even then you're not guaranteed that the full version will be fully functional. It's always a good idea to ask here or do a search.
