Frame size does match and therefore can't trim

Post by marshalab »

1. I am using the latest version of videostudio which I upgraded today today June 11, 2011.
2. I am using a Sanyo Video Camcorder PD2, which I am recording in 1280 x 720 29.97 frames per second.
3. I’ve imported the video, into the program, and I am simply trying to “join” the video by using step three that is “Share.”
4. I am clicking option “create video file” and then the option “same as first video clip” because I would like to preserve the same video settings. There are other ways I could join the clips, but these ways do not preserve the video settings. So when I choose “same as first video clip I get my error message “The frame size of the video (1280 x 720) does not match the settings and therefore cannot be trimmed.’

I am hoping you can help me.

Sincerely,

Marshal.

Welcome to the forums Marshal, :)

Can you right-click on one of the video clips in the Library or Timeline, select Properties and post them? I only have a couple of clips that are similar to yours and each time I select the Same as First Video clip option, I don't get any error, and VS produces a video file with the same properties. The difference may be the codec being used. My clips use the H.264 codec contained in an MPEG-4 wrapper. Yours however may be AVCHD which are different.

The Properties of my Video Files:
File Format: MPEG-4 File
File Size: 103,210 KB

Hoping to get a nice reply here. One possible solution is perhaps I could send some small video clips to a helpful person, and they could help me figure out why I am having this problem. I sure would like to keep my original settings in my processed movies.

Sincerely,

Marshal.
