Need help on using Corel VideoStudio X2

Post by natural4862 »

After adding some photos into the video project (the photo are of high resolution), I export the video into AVI format without compression. However, the photos are blurred in the exported video.

I have tried different settings, such as installing windows media encoder 9, exporting to different video formats, and I have checked the photos were kept in original height:width ratio while importing into the video project. But until now, it still doesn't work.

One interesting thing is while viewing the video in "Project Playback" option before exporting, the video look's fine with the photos very clear. The picture below is the screen capture on "Project Playback":

But while viewing the photos in the exported video, it looks like this:

I'm using windows 7, 32bit

Any ideas?? Many thanks

Welcome to the forums, :)

Are you wanting to create a DVD (SD), Blu-Ray disc, Hybrid disc, or video for the internet? The end format is very important as it will dictate the frame size. For example a SD DVD for NTSC will only allow a max frame size of 720 x 480. If your photo is 3264 x 2448 VS will scale down the photo, and VS is not very good at that, since it is a video editing application and not a photo editing application. Are you wanting to apply any pan/zoom to your photo? If so then the larger frame size is needed to start with to allow for the zooming (enlargement).

With the uncompressed AVI format, what frame size are you using? Unless you're wanting SD video, you can define the frame size. Choose Create Video File>Custom. Then press the Options button, go to the General tab and click the radial button beside User-defined under the Frame Size.

One other thing to check, in the Preferences dialog (File>Preferences, or F6 keyboard shortcut), on the Edit tab, uncheck the option Apply anti-flickering filter in image clips. This may help, but could also allow flickering if there are a lot of vertical lines in your image.
