Command could not complete because ....

I have just re-installed PSPX2,re-loaded the workspace and all of the sudden when running a bound script (postcard border in this case) I get a message:
"Command could not complete because the document type is unsupported".

Tried a new image, drew a rectangular selection and applied a drop shadow. This should work fine, it always did before, but now I get that message.

I have the idential version of X2 installed on the laptop and it works fine there.

I have no idea what I should be looking for to cure this.

Any hints are gratefully received!

EDIT:
Never mind, I will re-do X2 from scratch. some other things no longer work either.
