Parking footage on timeline?

Post by route66teacher »

Hi,

Well, I bit the bullet, and I'm slowly learning the tricks of Video Studio. Here's my question... is there anyway I can "park" footage on the lower video tracks without them showing up in my preview video? In other words, I typically place clips on lower timeline tracks and eventually insert them into the final video after tweaking the main video track. When "other" clips are parked at the lower tacks, they appear in the preview footage, which I do not want to see.... yet.

Thanks in advance. My reason for purchasing CVS was the strong support provided here at the forum.

I do not know of any way you can "park" video clips in the timeline and not have them show in the preview screen - and I cannot see how it is any help in having random clips dotted all over the timeline - video clips which you require "parked" are best placed in the library , where you can see what you have and where they are.

Yeah I know... but sometimes I "forget" to mark which clips are already inserted into the timeline. It would be great to have some type of indication in the library as to whcih clips have already been added. For now, based on good advice here, I simply "rename" each inserted clip with an at the end of the title.

This has been requested for several versions, but they still will not make it happen.
