So I select some jpegs in the Organizer and click the "Share as E-mail" button... and what does it do? It puts up an alert saying
So I check the control panel, and sure enough, Thunderbird is indeed set as the default for both MAPI and the Mailto protocol. There is no email program associated to perform the requested action. Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel.
Anyway, X3 then puts up a "E-mail as" dialog, and won't let me select "embedded"; it's grayed out. I select "Original" as the size and hit OK, and the "no email program" alert comes up again. Then it successfully creates a new message in Thunderbird with the image attached... but it's useless because I wanted it embedded.
Fortunately I was able to get that result by dragging the selected images to a Thunderbird message-composition window. (Though of course I then had to rearrange them into the right order. Which I suppose I would have also had to do with the other method.)
