If you convert your RAW file to a 16 bit Tiff you'll not lose much in the way of latitude of being able to adjust things after it's imported into PSP. Look at it this way, your camera's software is good for general edits, then you use PSP for those images that just need that extra touch. So if your image looks pretty darned good strait out of camera then it's likely importing to PSP wouldn't be worth the time. Also your camera's RAW converter typically retains in camera settings that may be discarded by other third party programs like PSP. It would be a monumental task for any code writer to reverse engineer not only the RAW files but the sidecar settings and any add-ons since the .nef or .cr2 or..... format was first implemented. Even the big boy in the room of third party RAW converters doesn't do it, albeit it likely gives you a lot more controls and sliders to adjust than PSP does.
Frankly if they stopped working on keeping up with RAW files and fixed some bugs in X3 that have been around WAYYYY to long I'd be happy.
Does Corels Paint Shop Photo Pro X3 handel RAW well? A list?
