Jitter/jerky video after rendering

Post by Deadnight666 »

Hello.

I am using GOPRO HD camera and Corel VideoStudio Pro X4 v14. I really like to do projects with VideoStudio x4, beacause it is easy to use, for a newbie like me. I have tried other video editors, but VideoStudio suits perfect for my use. Only problem i'm encountering is, that the video playback after rendering is annoyingly jerky. I also have some audio problems, but i got it solved by making the audio first to WAV and then mute the original audio and adding the new WAV file in to the timeline etc... I've been trying to find answers without luck, thus far. I do not know if it is something to do with my hardware or so, beacause my friend uses exact same camera and same software and he does not have encountered any of my problems, thus far. He has a LOT faster PC than i do, though i don't think that should effect to the final video. Only with faster PC the process is faster. Right?

Well anyway i will show you the settings ive used and the sample video, so you can see what i'm talking about.

These are the settings ive used...

I've read that someone said, that you never should use the Smart Rendering in HD. But i've tried without it too and same bad result...

And here's the sample video...

Please, can you tell me what i am doing wrong? Should i reinstall the software? What should i do, to get rid of the annoying jitter/jerky?

Cheers,

The solution will probably be to do the same thing with the video that you're doing with the audio and convert to a "more friendly" format. And, if Video Studio chokes on the conversion, there are free 3rd party conversion tools.

What final format do you want? Or, what's your goal? A DVD? A Blu-Ray disc? Uploading to YouTube? The general rule is that the less-compressed ("less-advanced") formats are less trouble-prone. (i.e. DV is better for editing/converting than MPEG, and MPEG-2 is better than MPEG-4 or MOV or WMV, etc.)

Right! Speed can make a difference when you are editing/previewing, but when you actually render it's just "number crunching". You shouldn't get errors or lower quality just because the computer is slower. (It's only when you are rendering in real time... i.e. gaming... where a slow computer might not have enought time to render a good image.

I can't explain why your friend's computer is working better. Are there format options for the camera? Is there a possibility that he's using a slighly different format setting??? It might be "interesting" to try one of your friend's video files from his camera, or your camera/files on his computer.

Well i want the format and quality to be same as the original, uncut videos i make with GOPRO HD. Uploading to YouTube and storing on my HDD are the main intrests. I only cut the "boring" parts and add transitions between cuts and maybe adding some text.

So what do you suggest i should convert my original GOPRO HD clips? And you mean before editing i should convert or so?

Thanks.
