Creating Arrows using Text Overlay

Creating Arrows using Text Overlay
I want to create arrows as an overlay on a sports video to highlight a certain player. Thought I could do this by creating a title using Winding3 font - but when i select Windings3 font in Corel Video Studio - instead of seeing arrows - like i do in Word, I see the alphabet? Is there any way to create Arrows in Corel VideoStudio 4Pro? Thanks

Why not just use the Painting Creator function and draw as many arrows as big as you like all over the screen.

See the following for what I do: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... ht#p210731
You may also want to check out some of the NewBlue plugins. They can do some similar things.

You'll need to use the Windows Character Map (Start > Accessories > System > Character Map) to select and copy one of the arrow symbols in Winddings3, then paste it in the text field on a title in VideoStudio. You'll also have to change the font in VS to Wingdings3.
I don't know about you, but I can't use the ALT + nnnn numeric keypad trick to enter special characters in VS, but the method I just provided works for me.

Re: Creating Arrows using Text Overlay
I know, it's a weird quirk of ProX4. If you select Wingdings 3 and type the letter 'e' with caps off you should get a rightward facing arrow, but all you get is the letter 'e'.
Try this - type the letter 'e' in any font apart from Wingdings then highlight the letter and select Wingdings 3 and it magically changes in to the arrow you wanted. JD
