How do I create fixed column titles?

Post by weezul »

(MediaStudio Pro 7)

I'd like to create some rolling credits (no problem), but want to have them in a 2 column format like at the end of many films. ie like an HTML table with 2 columns, with each column left justified. I've tried putting tabs in but the tabs aren't saved when I exit the title dialog. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I did this once a coupla years ago, but I cheated. I created the LH column title on V3 and the RH column title on V4 (V1 and V2 were being used for other effects.) By using identical fonts and effects with the same starting frame, it looks seamless.

You can also use a graphics proggy (I like Corel Draw! for this) and import the file, using a moving path for the scrolling.

Excellent...you say it's a 'cheat' but I call it lateral thinking.
Left col in V1 & right col in V2 works a treat.
Thanks.

Hello,

I have tried this, but with no success. I have made for test a graphic 720*2400 pixel (BMP-file) which contains text and graphic elements (i want a title inclusive graphics). Now i imported this as picture, duration 60seconds. I used a moving path on it, width=720 (i want to see full width), hight=2400 (i want to see 576 lines of graphic at each moment), X=360 and Y=1000 for first keyframe and -500 for last keyframe. Proportions look correct. But it is not satisfying:

First: X and Y cannot have any value, it is restricted from -576 to 1152, so i cannot show every part of my graphic, especially when i have a longer title, this means hight would be 5000 or much more.

Second: No scaling should be necessary, but pixels of graphic are not copied 1:1 to video. Text is build by some big blocks, it cannot be read. The same happens to graphic elements, relolution is very poor.

For Text it may be possible to combine normal procedure for scrolling title but graphic elements has still to be added by moving path with poor resolution.

Do i make some mistakes or what can be the reason for poor resolution? I want make a graphic file, width identical to width of video and hight much higher than hight of video. What width and hight (in pixels) should be the graphic and what factors should i use for width and hight in moving path? Any idea? I have tried the same with Cool3D (thin "Cube", width and hight indentical to graphic and graphic put as texture on front size, then cube moved upword).

Thanks for tips
