I don't know what it's called exactly. It's the effect in which a picture or text can be turned sideways or from top to bottom as if being panned by a camera. Just picture this for example: Stare at your palm. Then slowly turn your palm sideways until all you see is two or three fingers aligned in one straight line. Now stare at your palm again. And slowly move your head as if it's a camera and pan over the side view of your palm so all you'll see is your fingers aligned in one line once again.
Imagine that your palm is the image or the text/title.
Can that be done in Corel? I know that we can "distort" an image using the yellow green dots, but I want to make the image "mobile" as it distorts itself so it doesn't look so dead & static.
thank you in advance.

Re: perspective effect?
I think what your after is a motion path that moves in 3D space. VS is not able to produce that. I have a couple of 3D programs, like the old Ulead Cool 3D Production Studio, and Bluff Titler that I use to create titles like these.

"Moves in 3D space" ... yes, that's it! But I'm kinda disappointed that VSP can't do that. I guess I'll write that in the wishlist for VSPX5. I'll check out Ulead Cool 3D & BluffTitler. Thank you for your suggestion.

Re: perspective effect?
There's a NewBlueFx effect, Picture-in-Picture, which lets you rotate objects around the x,y,z axis.
I believe that effect is included with VS X4. If not, it's included in NewBlueFx's Video Essentials 2 package.

Re: perspective effect?
Black Lab, is it easy to use/not too demanding to the user? I'm not too keen on 3D composites, so I prefer something that's easy to use until I get a grip on the whole 3D making stuff.
Btw, is Ulead Cool 3D still available/being manufactured? If it's been phased out, then I guess it won't work on my Win7 machine.
Kingston, yes I'm aware of P-in-P but it has limitation in that while the size can be changed, the clip cannot be zoomed in, which is what I'm after.

Re: perspective effect?
Sadly Ulead Cool 3D PS is no longer available. I've run the trial version of Xara 3D, and it is fairly easy to use. Download the trial and see what you think.

Re: perspective effect?
Regarding "no zoom" in the P-in-P, you use the Crop control in NewBlue's P-in-P effect to zoom in.

Re: perspective effect?
Kingston,
hi. Thank you very much for the tip. It did the trick for the photos.
However, as I try to replicate the effect to a title, a semi-transparent black background appears and it covers the entire frame. how do I remove that black background?
UPDATE: Disregard my last question. I found a workaround with it. The semi-transparent black background is actually a shadow and it can be removed or adjusted in P-in-P control box.
