help??
i am having major problems with this program. 1st I have 4 seperate buttons linked to video clips and a play all button. 3 of my buttons are linked to 3 seperate parts from the same video that i imported. the 4th is from another video clip. Hitting each button except play all, works fine. my play all is assigned each clip seperately instead of just hitting playall in the playlist.( i wasnt sure if it would play in the correct order.) When i hit play all it plays are the 3 videos that came from the same imported video clip but not the 4th one that was a seperate import. do i need to use the "play all" feature? but the way i have it set it should still play them all, right?? also i cant check this w/o creating a dvd because the fast/skip forward and skip/rewind buttons are not accessible in the finish window. my video is not long but too long to sit there and watch each section realtime to see if all 4 sections play. i am also having problems with some text that i have in my menu. for some reason a piece of text will not show up in the finish window or on the created dvd but is in my menu when i edit it. then when i try to delete the "corrupt" text it will not let me delete it. my temporary solution is to hide it outside title safe areas and add new text. but there has to be a more logical solution. sorry for such a long question but i really need some help.
Which version are you running? 2.x, Full, Express, SE, Trial, other?
Have you applied all patches, is your version 2.231 or something else?
Your button to play everything -- what does the Playlist look like? It should just have two titles in it -- the one with the 3 chapters, and the other separate title.
The text problem -- is it sent to background? You might have to bring it to the front (or move something in front of it to the background)

it is version 2. my playlist has 4 things in it. when i turned the 1 video clip into 3 it gave me 3 seperate chapters. did i do something wrong??? i opened the clip in the edit window and added a chapter where i needed it. how do i know where the text is. im not familiar with how layers would work in this programs
change your playlist for the "Play All" button to have the First chapter (or start) of Title-1, and then drag Title-2 to the playlist.
That should play all of Title-1 (each of the chapters), then all of Title-2.
Start with a couple of small test videos (about 1 or 2 minutes each). Create a little test project just to see how it works

FYI - Once a title starts playing, it wont stop 'till it gets to the end of that title... Only then, it will go back to the playlist. That's why George says you should have only 2 items on the playlist.
So here's what I'd expect from your original 4-item playlist:
Step 1 -
Play Title 1, chapters 1, 2, 3
Back to playlist...
Step 2 -
Play Title 1, chapters 2, 3
Back to playlist...
Step 3 -
Play Title 1, chapter 3
Back to Playlist...
Step 4 -
Play Title 2, chapter 1
I have no idea why you can't delete the text. But, when things get that screwed-up, I usually start-over. The non-safe area may show-up on some TVs. A better TV will show more of the picture. I'm pretty sure that LCD/plasma TVs will show the whole picture. (Overscan is not an issue because LCD/plasma displays don't "scan" like a CRT display.) The only thing that you can count-on is that everything inside the safe area will show-up on a properly adjusted TV.

Here's a trick - Add some chapter-points (without menu-links) at or near the end of each chapter. Then, you can use the >>| to skip-ahead during playback. Of course, you can delete the extra chapter-points from your final DVD if you wish.... too long to sit there and watch each section realtime to see if all 4 sections play.
