PSP X2 Reinstall Issue

Post by shonstain »

I had Paint Shop Pro Photo Ultimate installed on my XP Pro computer. I got the patch for PSP X2 and applied it and was doing some work and then something happened and the program crashed so I decided to Uninstall PSP X2 and now I can't reload it on my computer. I removed all references to PSP X2 from the Registry and it still won't load. I insert the disk and it acts like it's going to load but then I get the following Windows Installer message: "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

What do I do now? Is this a Paint Shop Pro Photo issue or a Windows issue? I really don't know what to do and hoping someone here can help me out with this Reinstall Issue.

Welcome to the forums, :)
"This patch package could not be opened.
By the error message it seems that you are clicking on a Service Pack install file, not the main program install file. You must re-install the main program first.

I have clicked on anything that looks like a application installed for PSPX2 on the DVD: Installer.exe, psppx2.msi, setupexe, msi31.exe, autorun.exe and all give the "Patch package could not be opened" error message.

If you ordered the disc installer then you may need to use the disc to install the program, if you originally ordered a download edition then you can redownload the installer by logging-in to your Corel.com account and access your order section.

You can access this KB for additional information: http://corel.force.com/index/articles/e ... d-My-Order

I have the DVD but nothing works -- It was a boxed gift from someone else. I've gone back to PaintShop Pro X since I can't get this issue resolved! :(
