wind filter as an add-on/patch

Post by Davidk »

Hi,

I need a wind filter for my Vs11+ recordings. Before anyone asks: I'm still using VS11+ because 1) prox2 did not offer enough to make upgrade worthwhile, 2) running a demo version of pro x3 turned me right off by the way things were re-organised, not to mention the idiocy of using a black wall paper background when for years the tech'os have delivered on HD colour monitors to meet demand for resolution and colour at the UI, and 3) pro x4 did not appear to change any of that, seems still focussed on new features rather than making it really user friendly.

So, .. back to wind filters.
The camera is a reasonably new JVC item, has a wind filter and it was enabled at the time the recordings were made, but that doesn't seem to have made much difference to the sound result. Splitting the audio from the video and applying one or more of the VS11 audio filters in the package - wind isn't one of them - improves things a bit but the wind noise still dominates the resulting sound track.

A forum search on "wind filter" indicates that quite a lot of people want this. Patches have been used for feature add-ons before. What are the chances of a patch add on to provide it???
