PSP X3 'Not Responding' Error Message

Post by Kattitude »

I installed PSP X3 trial version to see if I actually wanted to buy it, but after installing it, I keep getting Not Responding when I try to open the program. Please help. I am running out of time on my trial time. Thank you.

PS: I have the same problem with XI, so I reverted back to Jasc PSP9.

Welcome to the forums, :)

I've noticed this Not Responding error a few times, and found that with Vista anyway, waiting a few minutes, the program stabilizes and responds, so I can get on with what I'm wanting to do. I'm not sure exactly what is causing this, and it doesn't do it all the time. There are 4 or 5 patches for PSP X3, that should tell you the problems it has. You can not install patches to the trial versions though.

If you're running any other programs, or applications shut them down and try launching PSP. One of them could be causing a conflict. When you launch PSP, try right-clicking on the desktop icon, and selecting Run as Administrator.

Thanx Ron...I will give that a try. I was told that it may be the DEP and to put the ,exe in to allow the DEP to see it and that didn't work. *sighs*

You may also want to restart the computer before you try opening PSP X3 again.

Ok, I have tried everything...the DEP, restarting, opening X3 before opening anything else and walking away for 15-30 minutes (did this several times) and tried run as admin...nothing has worked. What now???

UPDATE: Well, I am uninstalling the X3 trial since I can't use it (and even the unistaller is giving me problems). I will not be buying X3 or any future products from Corel. Seems since Corel purchsed the Jasc products, everything has gone to Hell as I can't use XI either. I will stick to JASC PSP9, tyvm!

Can't say that I blame you Kat, I've quit PSP, until Corel fixes it. I keep stopping by the forums to see if there is finally a new patch that might fix all the problems. And all I see is new problems, and fixes, that require you to be a programmer! In the mean time, I'm getting more and more proficient at CS5.

And no, I'm not a troll, I've been a fan of PSP, since version 5. 6, 7, 8, 9 not any problems, even X1! X3 will be the death of my beloved PSP! Corel! Fix it!

I loved the Jasc products. I began with PSP7...still use PSP9. I have teh same issue with X1 that I had with X3, and there is NO support for X1 any longer. *sighs* Still have problems on Vista with a few plug-ins with PSP9, other than that I love it. Wish Jasc was still around.

It really is a shame how Corel regards it's customers. You'd think that if you downloaded the trial version recently from Corel that you wouldn't need to patch the program, it would already have those fixes.
