I have just upgraded to Pro X3 from v9 and v10 (yes it has taken me some time I know).
Well I have a dvd (mpeg) rendered movie (renedered with vs9) I want to create a dvd disk with using x3.
When I select Share>Create Disk (and Corel DVD Pro Factory starts) then click on Select Photos and Videos I expect to be able to navigate to and select the rendered movie for inclusion but no matter what I try I cannot seem to find ANY file let alone my rendered file.
I cannot find anything in the VideoStudio Pro X3 User Guide to help me.
Is there a separate guide somewhere to read?
All so frustrating.
Another question.
Is it dangerous to have vs9, vs10+ and x3 all installed on the same disk?

Re: Help required creating (dvd) disk with x3
I wonder why you went for X3 with all it's disc burning problems - when X4 is available and the disc creation has been put back to be similar to V9 and V10.
Part of your problem John is that DVD Pro Factory is complete rubbish and does not work properly - you will find dozens of posts on Pro Factory on these forums. Even Corel admitted in the end that DVD Pro Factory was no good and have made availabe a special copy of DVD MovieFactory 7SE free of charge to everyone who has X3 - should be available to you through your 'get more' link in X3
you can read much more about it and how to get it in this topic here :- http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37432
and no it is not dangerous to have three versions of VideoStudio on your PC at the same - I have 4 versions and most of the Admins/moderators have 3 or 4 so we can check back on queries - just don't try to actually open more than one at a time .

Re: Help required creating (dvd) disk with x3
Thanks Brian
I had seen a post regarding the original Movie Factory and that an updated version was available but wasn't sure how to get that. I now see it is part of the GET MORE. I have the following extra files is it one of these? -
GetMore_Style_01
Incentives_Setup
VSProX3Patch3
if not how do I get it - I didn't notice any 'link' within X3
Oh and yes the reason why I bought X3 and not X4 was basically my budget. I got X3 for around $35 and X4 would cost me over $100 and I couldn't see (at the time) a motive for paying extra. I still run a SD vidcam. I had been using vs9 (I did purchase vs10 years ago but it created too many headaches crashing too many times so stopped using it). I only upgraded (to x3) to get the drawing function and to enable me to import more video formats but thought that the extra menu functionality would give me more professional menus.
I have never used VS for burning disks - I always output to a file and then use Ashampoo to burn dvd disks.
Cheers

No it is not one of the files you have.
To access 'get more' - look to the top right corner of VideoStudio - next to the X (close) and - (minimise) is a round icon like a clock face - click on that and the GET more window opens - one of the tabs in that window is the DO more tab - that is where I believe the link appears - I beleive you have to have had VideoStudio installed for 3 days before the link appears - it's worth looking in there anyrate for the extra material you can download.

Hi John
DVD Movie Factory was an addition to the original program.
You have to install the patch first, then the Get More will list DVD Movie factory and be available for download
By the way DVD Movie factory 7SE is very similar to using VS9 / 10 burner module.

Just to answer jparnold, as long as your computer has enough disc space you can install multiple copies of Videostudio on your computer. Since each version are installed on different folder, which means it will not affect the other versions of Videostudio.

Re: Help required creating (dvd) disk with x3
Thanks everyone for your input.
Maybe if I had known the issues with Movie Factory embedded in X3 before I purchased it I may have paid the $100 extra and purchased X4.
Anyway I didn't get X3 for the Disk creation bit, I got it for the extra tracks (overlay and especially audio as I have been using audio from video clips in the overlay track with the video minimised and dragged to one corner for an extra 'audio' track), for the drawing facility and for the extra video format files which can be used.
In response to Abiel - I have a 500gb sata hdd and a 40gb pata hdd so plenty more space available even with many mini dv captured tapes stored.
I also have Mediastudio 7se installed which I use for the moving path features (I see this is one on the wish list for X5 and I totally agree as its use adds greatly to movies).
