VideoStudio Pro X4 - Menu blu-Ray

Post by BShark »

Hello,
I have installed the evaluation version of VideoStudio Pro X4 in order to test it.
When I whant to create a Blu-Ray menu, I have only one menu template. Is it normal ?
Do you know where I can find others ?
After modifying it, I can't find the way to save it, in "Favorite" for example.
How to create a new menu from zero ?

Or this menu creation tool is very limited, or I missed something

Thanks for your help.

Hi

Although the trial version is fully functioning some library and template contents are limited.

The complete version has 8 Bluray menu templates, each can be customised.

Select a template from the Gallery
Select the Edit tab
Choose Customise
Changing some of the options will make the Add to Menu Template available. (immediately below the preview screen.)
Your template will be saved to your Favourites folder and listed in the Gallery
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\14.0\Favorites\HD Basic\16x9\Favorites

Once you have completed the burning process or created your menu, closing the window will return you to the edit timelines.
Now save your project as a VSP -- will / should save the menu structure you just created.

Hope this Helps

I am running a trial version of VideoStudio Pro X4. I saw the previous post about only one menu template being available. I've tried setting and customizing to no avail. I have used ULead Movie Factory 4 for years and it had more menu templates than VideoStudio does and VideoStudio uses the same DVD menu as Movie Factory.

I like VideoStudio compared to others I have tried but the menu templates and customizing are a deal breaker for me. I had more flexibility with creating and modifying templates under Move Factory. Any comments or is the trial that stripped down?

Hi
First of all once the trial has finished you will not be able to open X4 projects (VSP’s) using either X3 or X2 unless you save the projects “Save as Type” for X3 or X2.

“File -- Save As” from the following window change the “Save as Type”
I usually give it a name indicating the VS version.

Then close the project.

Share Create DVD Menu
Creating and Saving a menu template uses the same processes when using X4 and DVD Movie Factory 7
They will be saved to your favourites folder and show in the gallery.

The trial version X4 as far as I know is fully functioning except for the extra content files.
When you select Customise a new window should show, changing the template, try selecting new navigation buttons will make the “Add to Template Menu” available”

Using DVD MF7Se shows 34 menu templates, X4 shows 39.

It should be possible to copy the templates .ufo and .ini files from Movie factory to X4 and visa versa.
Certainly it is possible to copy the favourites folders content.

I probably should have also clarified that I am creating an AVCHD DVD. But I still do not have the options you mentioned for customizing like I can with Ulead Moviefactory, like the customize button. And copying Ulead favorites did not work. It has come down to this software and Cyberlink PowerDirector Ultra 64, so if Corel is limiting some functions of the trial version they may miss some sales because of it. I purchase based on how the trial versions function and Corel does extremely well on speeds and ease of use as does PowerDirector

I have used VideoStudio for many years and each time I upgrade there have been fewer and fewer menu options. It is ridiculous. I bought VSPro4X recently, via web download, to make HD disks in AVCHD format and there is precisely ONE menu option supplied. But that is not my biggest problem....... see my post about re-rendering . If I was responsible for Corel software I would not sleep until the basic problems were fixed, What has happened to that clever little ULead outfit?

Hi cyberu

First apologies, I had thought that all disc types DVD -- Bluray and Avchd would allow customising the menu.
I have just tried Avchd and it does not seem to allow this.
However all is not lost, both Bluray and AVCHD seem to use the same gallery.
If you choose the Bluray option you can customise a menu, It will be saved to the Gallery and show when creating a AVCHD disc.

A bit annoying but a work-round,
I don’t know if Corel Customer Support are aware of this anomaly?

Your download should have been in several parts.

The main program,
Maybe a Bonus file,
An Extra Content file, --- its this file that completes the installation of Video Studio.
Running the file will add extra templates filling the libraries.
This includes providing additional templates to the DVD Menu Galleries.
The Create Disc-Bluray menu gallery shows 8 templates.

Below is a link to another post containing an image of the X4 full main editing library.
