I've just downloaded my Corel VS Pro X3 on my new computer running windows 7.
But I am having a problem after I create a video file. I use the mpeg optimizer to create a mpg file. Which is all well and good, But ----after the file is created, VS does not allow any play back because it continues to render until I have to close VS due to the program “not responding”.
I hope I am making sense explaining my problem. I just like to create DVD's of the grand-kids and I'm not a computer wiz.
Thanks for any help.

Re: VS prox3 problem
Welcome to the forums!
Or is it 'welcome back' since I seem to recall someone with a username like yours from a couple of years ago...
Unfortunately, as I just said to someone else we simply do not have enough information to be able to make even a reasonable guess at a solution. We also have no idea what your video format is, and what kind of camcorder or other device was used to film it, or what editing you did to it.
Please have a look at this sticky post at the top of this forum -- it is called, indicatively, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING viewtopic.php?p=41454#p41454 Then get back to us with the information requested and hopefully someone will be able to help.

Re: VS prox3 problem
Hello Carol,
There are actually a lot of reason why this happens. It can be a conflicting software that. outdated software and codecs, and/or the problem is in the video file that you are working on.
To resolve the conflicting program, check if there are other video editing program or media player running when using videostudio X3.
For outdated software, if you are not using a trial you can download all the updates from http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 0460544373
Here are some of the codecs that you may want to install.
RealPlayer: http://www.real.com/
DivX: http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/codec-pack
XviD: http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.3.1.zip
Windows Media Player: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/wind ... dia-player or just download the Windows Encoder at http://www.microsoft.com/expression/pro ... rview.aspx
QuickTime: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
