try reinstall GIF 5

Post by bryave »

Why don't you try a clean reinstall of GIF 5? Try removing folders related to it in program files, registries, installation info, and delete temp files before you install it again. Please let me know if it worked. ^_^

I also have problems installing from the fx4ga.exe sent to me via the email links after buying GA5 and the FX addon.

History:
  • DL'd and installed the trial version of GA5.
  • I Decided to purchase and sent for the Boxed Media Version of GA5, and DL'd the fx4ga exe from the email link sent after purchase.
  • When the disc arrived, I uninstalled the trial version and rebooted.
  • I installed GA5 from the disc.
  • I ran the saved fx4ga exe file (which I've re-DL'd 3 times)
Effect:

The normal install dialog comes up at first, but then I click on "Yes", an small & empty dialog pops up with only an "OK" button on it. When I click it, I get an error saying "Extstub has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down", with the following details:

Code: Select all

If anyone can help me with this, I'd much appreciate it. I'd like to be able to use the additional FX, especially since it was an extra cost to get it!

codecs

Post by bryave »

You might have existing codecs that conflicts with the plug-in. As far as I know 3ivx codecs appears to have problem with these plug-ins. Could you try removing them and tell me if it works. Thanks. :D

cannot even open the downloaded file

Post by janetgalle »

Hi all,
I too have purchased and downloaded Gif animator 5 and Ulead F/X for GIF Animator. The Animator installed OK, but I can't even open the fx4ga file. I get this error message:

16 bit Windows Subsystem

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and MS Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.

I am severly "Techno Challenged" and have no idea what this means or what to do about it.

Help?

Thanks,
jg

janetgalle,
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and MS Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.
You can search this autoexec.nt issue with Microsoft KnowledgeBase. I think there's an instruction where you will copy and paste codes into your autoexec.nt file in your system.

Helping further... :D

Problems with installing Ulead F/X for GIF Animator

Post by bobthecomputer »

I Payed for the test Ulead GIF Animator 5 TBYB after the time was up, and then also purchased the Ulead F/X package for it online.
Now the GIF 5 works fine, but even after uninstalling all files a couple times, I still can't get the Ulead F/X package to install.
Tried calling tech support, but seems no ones ever there and is costing me.

When trying to install the fx4ga.exe file, all I keep getting is:
Sorry! We can not find the Ulead GIF Animator 2.0 or above in your system. Please install the ULead GIF Animator 2.0 or above then run this program again.

Also when I just try to extract the exe file, all that is in it is a: 1kb os.dat file. *shrug*

Anyone have a sollution for me?

Help is needed soon as paid for it and would like to use it.

Thanks,
