I need to pull my photo into my multi ayered full virtual imge-they tell me I shouldn't include my photo on my book cover for it will distract the reader and depress sales. I will risk it. I have it in PSP as you have advised me--and it is ready to go. I want to import this as what? As a art media, as a raster? How do I bring it in?
Why not have "insert photo" on under file?

With your image open go Edit->Copy.
Go to your book image and go Edit->Paste As New Layer.
It'll now be on its own raster layer and you can move and size it anywhere you want.
