Trial install not working

Post by redballoon »

Okay, this is turning into a personal quest of hate for me now. I've been trying to install a trial version of Pain Shop all day and I'm running into error messages and refusals everywhere I go. "This page does not exist" "you must register before we'll talk to you" "can't register because this page does not exist" round and round I go.

At this point, why would I BUY a copy for any amount of money when there are so many hurdles just to try it out and Corel is telling me at every turn that they don't want to talk to me unless I have already given them money. No wonder Adobe, Roxio, and Microsoft have the corner on the market and Corel doesn't.

A ) I already did all of those things before I posted. And B ) even if I hadn't, I'd say "thanks, but no thanks." I've already spent too much time trying to resolve a problem just so I could try out software I might want to buy. I think I've seen enough. If installing the trial is this much trouble, how much worse is it when I want to install it for real? And if there's no tech support to be had while trying to install, there's no tech support. It's completely unacceptable.

("Pain Shop." A typo, to be sure, but appropriate, wouldn't you say?)
