Help to ID a music track please?

Post by shadedartistry »

Hi, I'm new here and have a slightly OT request.

I have recently been using Corel Videostudio Pro 12 (X2) but a few years ago I briefly used version 8 when it was still a Ulead product. I created a small clip from a home video and added a background music file which I am 99% certain was included in version 8. I want to create another clip using the same sound file but I can't find any idea what it's called or where I could obtain it. So I'm wondering if anyone here could identify the sound and help in any way? I have uploaded a sample here: sample.mp3

I have been searching for ages, I found a trial version 8 installed it and the track wasn't included, I even tried music recognition software but nothing has worked so far. If anyone could help I would be very grateful.

Regards,
Mike.

Couldn't tell you, because the file is corrupt. I've tried playing it with every possible program, and they all report the same thing. The download site says it's 2MB, however I can only get about 177kb. You might try converting it to a WAV file and re-uploading it.

If I can hear it, and it came from one of the earlier versions of VS, I could get it to you. I have a folder on one of my external HDDs, where I have all the audio files from VS 8.

Edited
Check your email that you used to register for the forums. I've sent you all the music files that were included with VS8.

Hi Ron, thank you for the reply.

I received the email and songs and it is not one of them so I must be mistaken about something. The video clip had an effect at the beginning as an introduction, it was like the old red movie theatre curtains opening to the video so I'm wondering if I got the version (8) wrong. The original was created in 2005 and I know I used Videostudio, I also recall installing other options to try like Sony Vegas but didn't use them so now I'm wondering if I maybe grabbed a music sample from those.

I did also send you the clip via email and I have a new download link, here..

sample.mp3

I hope you or someone can help, I've searching so much it's driving me mad. :D

Best regards,
Mike.

Found it, it was in VS 9. The theater intro video and that music file. The music file is attached in the zip file. I would have located it sooner, except it got real busy around these parts yesterday. Have numerous tornadoes visit various towns nearby. In a small community about 50 miles from me, one where some of my relatives used to live years ago, the town was destroyed, numerous people injured, and sadly one was killed. Mother nature seems to be very, very angry this year.. :x

Ron, My new friend Ron! :D
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I'm not one for smileys on forums but this is most definitely an exception! :D  :D
While I'm here, is there a collection of these anywhere, plus the intro's etc, from all the versions? They are really useful for home use stuff.

Sorry to hear about the tornadoes, it is something we rarely think about here in the UK as we hardly ever get extremes of weather. Ironic that we probably complain about "the weather" the most.

But many thanks for your help I really am truly grateful.
Regards,
Mike.

No collection of the sample clips from all versions exist that I know of. While I have versions 8 through X4 installed on one of my computers, it would be possible to put one together. Several of the latter versions simply used the same old clips from previous versions. Problem would be how to deliver it, the file sizes would be large, and the email that I use has a 25MB limit. I have been using Skydrive to upload files to, but seems to be a real PITA for some to be able to download them. I used to have my own website through a hosting service, but they packed up shop. Since then I've not bothered to try and re-establish one.
