VS Pro X4 & png Files

Post by Budda_357 »

Hi, Guys
Some good deals on line picked up the UG for US $45.99 have just installed the program and have one problem for png files. Tried to import from the bonus content objects folder (same as used in X2 only has one extra) to the library and gives the file mismatch error message.
Have restarted the program and computer but still can not import this format. Opened VS Pro X2 and png files import from the bonus content any advice other than to try a reinstall. :?:

Where did your PNG files come from? VS X4 should accept them without problems. I just tried, grabbing various PNG files, some created in PI, and others from the internet to other photo programs. Also make sure you're using the correct command, Insert Photo, as if you mistakenly use one of the others, like Insert Video, will give you the file format mismatch error.

Hi, Ron
It was from the bonus content that came with X4. Can not import any png files into X4 but X2 works fine. When you select a png file during the import with X4 there is no preview displayed. X2 imports from the X4 bonus content and displays preview b4 select open. Was going to try a repair option but it appears there is only a remove

Whoops  you learn something new everyday. I created folders on the left hand pane on the first screen when X4 launches which does not support graphics formats. Will take a little of playing around to get use the different GIU navigation between the programs  thanks for your reply Ron

They changed it, actually for the better. Rather than having separate libraries for your video, photos, and audio, they're combined into one folder. The menu has the file type divided into the video, audio, and photos.

Yeah, I initially had trouble finding the audio library.
