Unusual problem with Video TS folder

Post by tonyjer »

Hi Everyone

Have been using VS8 to create Video TS folder, which I then reduce with DVD shrink. I have been using this process for ages without any difficulty but now I get a problem with the creation of the TS folder.

My current project consists of 3 separate video files each 45 minutes long and they were all successfully created at 8000kbs. Each individual video file is 3Gb long and the overall size of the TS folder would be about 9.5GB.

The problem occurs about 90% of the way thru the video/audio multiplexing and you get an error stating, “cannot create the file” and the error code is something like 96001.01.

I know you often get video/audio multiplexing errors during disk burn and there are often good reasons for this. Equally it is common to get problems creating video files but this is a new one for me. Once you get past the creation of the mpeg file(s) I have never had a problem creating the TS folder.

Although I use Win ME I have plenty of Hard drive space and RAM available.

The only slightly difference between this project and others is that I burnt at 8000bs rather than 6000kbs. But I guess that this would only increase the size of the mpeg files and, in any event the files were created successfully.

Any advice would be much welcome.

Thanks

Even though you have plenty of HDD space your OS is still restricting you to a 4gb file size limit.. ME's Fat32 file system won't allow creating a single file over 4gb. My guess is that you will need to create 3 seperate TS Folders and Shrink each one so the total of the 3 when put together is under the 4gb limit.

Well, the 4GB file size is NOT the problem. The VIDEO_TS folder might be larger than 4GB, but the files inside the folder are only around 1MB.

Maybe at "about 9.5GB", Video Studio thinks its too big to fit onto a dual-layer DVD. ???

Try a lower bitrate.

Many thanks to you both.

I have never had a prob creating TS FOLDERS which are much larger than 4Gb.

I am now trying with a lower bit rate.

Thanks
