X4 DVD Menu thumbnail numbers

Hi

I am Creating a DVD + menu using X4

I have 5 Mpeg videos added to the burner module
I am using one of the Text Menus
Customised to use 6 per page
My five links show on the first menu page
From Advanced I have selected to show Thumbnail Numbers

I expected to see 1 through to 5

I see 1, 2. 3, 4, then 1………

I added a further video just to make sure and I see 1, 2, 3, 4, then 1, 2 …the numbering starting again.

It may be my system but can someone check this out……

I had a look at this, loading 5 video files, and configured the layout to 6 titles per page. The top 2 text menus have the correct numbering, all the rest do the repeating after 4. I tried to see if it would allow editing the numbers, which it does not. So the only remedy to this, would be to edit the menu using PhotoImpact.

Didn't catch this during the beta-testing. I would say it's not necessarily a bug, but has to do with how the menus may be constructed in PI. Each menu has an associated "ini" file. I looked at some of these and there are some that only have numbering up to 4. I haven't tried this yet, but it may be possible to alter the "ini" file adding the additional numbers.

Am back just or a few days. Have only got the TBYB version of VS X4 but have tried your problem. Can get 1 to 5 to show OK if allon page one of the menu. If you go to two pages then on page 2 the numbering goes back to 1, 2 etc.
Heres a screenshot of 1 to 5. Is that what you are trying?

That menu is one of the two that do the numbering correctly. Try the rest, and you'll see that they stop at 4 and repeat. While checking on my Vista machine, I discovered there's actually 3 menus that number correctly. Nothing to do with the OS, just forgot one before.

As I only have the TBYB version that is the only text menu that I have!

The default template whether it contains 3 , 4 or 5 links numbers them ok, its when you customise the templates layout to have more links per page that the problem exists.

John the first template you chose has 8 per page as default, that’s the maximum anyway so its gonna be correct.
All other templates will have the problem when customised.

I was using Text Menus.
The Thumbnail types suffer the same problem,
Smart Scenes are ok as you cannot customise the layout.

By the way the remote control works ok, hitting 7 plays the seventh video, assuming we have added seven videos.
