Windows Media Photos-Load Stream Error

Post by Viddynick »

Hi everyone,

New problem! My pc crashed and I had to do a complete new install - so have reinstalled Pro X 3. Until now, I have loaded photos and videos in myself straight to the library, making appropriate folders in Library organiser to keep myself tidy. Inadvertently I clicked on Windows Media Library - Picture Library and it started to load in all of my Picture folder which I didn't want it to do. I have masses of photos in that folder and I don't want them all in my Video Suite! But it won't stop loading - I closed the programme down via Task Manager but now each time I open it and go to that area, it still keeps trying to load in - the dreaded Load Stream Error is appearing all the time and I can't close the error box - the only resolution being doing Control-Alt-Delete to get Task Manager to end process. Is there any way I can a) delete Windows Media Libray-Picture Library link out of the suite without it affecting manual loading in from My Pictures - and if that can't be done, how do I get rid of the load stream error! To try to end it loading, I have cut (out of My Pictures folder) and pasted to my desk top some larger picture folders in the hope it won't "find" or "link" to those! I am happy with the link to the Video Media Libray but fear I will inadvertently hit the Picutre Media Library and all this problem will start over again. Hope someone knows what I mean. Thanks for your time.

Incidentally, Smart Package worked its magic for back-up as I was able to reload my project after the computer had crashed. So something has gone right!

Hi

There is a folder (13.0) that contains many files some are your library files which get updated each time you import to library.
For XP it is located here:-

C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro

Rename the folder called 13.0 to “13.0 copy”

When you open Video Studio a new folder "13.0" will be created, your library will be as default.

Hopefully this will reset the Media Library problem.

Your library files are called
VS_Video.dat
VS_Image.dat
VS_Audio.dat etc

replacing the copy VS_Video.dat or VS_Image.dat to the new folder should restore the video/image library pages

Post Edited

This may be easier………..
I have inspected the folders files and one called “VS_MediaLib_Image.dat” seems to be the culprit.

Rename this to VS_MediaLib_Image Copy.dat

Open Video Studio X3------a new VS_MediaLib_Image.dat will be created

Hi Trevor

Thanks very much for your time and trouble in responding. I was exasperated with this problem, having had the load stream error box before! I did delete the file 13.0 but it made no difference but perhaps because I didn't know about creating a copy as you say. I have in fact now reinstalled and loaded in necessary material via Insert Media File to Library folder. We have kept away from linking within VS automatically to Windows Media File Pictures/Videos etc. That's when the trouble starts. It has made me tidy up my pictures and video folders though! Have had this dreaded error occur before - it seems pretty common, though the solution not so! I am going to print out your suggestions as am sure it will occur again and then we will try your suggestions. It's these sort of probs that ruin the enjoyment of VS. All is now well - we have made and burned a film this pm on the basis of above.

Thanks for your trouble in reply.

Cheers
Mr and Mrs Viddynick.
